ABOUT

ABOUT

LILAS4SOILS is a collaborative project uniting partners across Europe to transform agriculture through sustainable farming and carbon-friendly practices. The goal is to improve soil health, boost climate resilience, and support innovation in farming methods. Together, the partners work towards a future with healthier soils and zero-emission agriculture.

Alongside the BGI team, i was responsible to develop the LILAS4SOILS brand identity. This included creating the logo, selecting the right colors and fonts, and designing all visual elements that would represent the project clearly and consistently across all communication materials. We worked closely with the partners to ensure the brand reflects their shared mission and values.

The logo is built from several meaningful elements:

  • Two green leaves form the base, representing life, growth, and our deep connection to nature and healthy soils.
  • A scientific tube sits between the leaves, symbolizing research, innovation, and the experimental drive behind the project.
  • Inside the tube, a layer of rich brown soil grounds the image in the earth, while from that soil, a green plant begins to grow—symbolizing regeneration, carbon farming, and positive change.
  • At the top, small bubbles rise from the tube, reflecting dynamic thinking, new ideas, and the ongoing evolution of sustainable agriculture practices.
  • The color palette supports the natural and scientific theme with:

    • Teal blue (#268d9eff) representing trust and technology.
    • Various shades of green (#3e8745ff and #3fa025ff) symbolizing nature, growth, and sustainability.
    • Earthy brown (#6e4931ff) to connect to soil and farming.
    • Dark grey (#394233ff) and white (#ffffff) provide contrast and clarity.

    Materials

    Materials

Beyond the logo and brand identity, I developed a wide range of visual materials to support LILAS4SOILS’ communication and outreach efforts. These include:

    • Five Practice Logos: Designed distinct logos representing the project’s five carbon farming practices, each visually reflecting the specific practice while aligning with the overall brand identity.
    • Living Lab Visual Identity Packages: Created custom logos for five Living Labs located across six European countries—Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, and Greece. Each Living Lab involved multiple partners and required a unique visual identity reflecting its regional context and goals. For each, I also designed tailored flyers, roll-ups, and supporting visual materials.
    • Flyers and Roll-ups: Designed for events and presentations to catch attention and clearly communicate key messages about the project’s goals and activities.
    • Social Media Templates: Developed branded templates to ensure visual consistency across platforms, making it easy for partners to share updates and engage audiences with cohesive, appealing posts.
    • Posters and Event Graphics: Produced materials for workshops, conferences, and meetings to establish a strong and unified visual presence at all public-facing events.
    • Certificates: Designed recognition certificates incorporating the brand colors and logo, maintaining a professional and cohesive look.
