LILAS4SOILS is a European project focused on fighting climate change by restoring soil health through Carbon Farming. It brings together farmers, scientists, and policymakers across Southern Europe to protect land, capture carbon, and stop desertification.
This project was especially meaningful because I was responsible for creating everything from the logo and brand book to all visual designs and the website itself. Working closely with BGI and EIT Food, I helped build a digital space where people can learn, explore, and feel part of this important environmental mission.
The challenge was to turn a large, complex initiative into something clear, welcoming, and easy to understand for a diverse audience: farmers, researchers, and everyday citizens.
I began by developing a visual identity that felt natural and grounded. Using Photoshop and Illustrator, I designed the logo, brand book, and all related visuals. The goal was to reflect LILAS4SOILS’ mission in a style that is warm, clean, and rooted in the earth.
Next, I built the website using Webflow, focusing on simplicity and usability. Whether visitors wanted to learn about Living Labs, join as farmers, or see project partners, the site made it easy to find and navigate this information without feeling overwhelming.
After launch, I continued monitoring and improving the site using Google Analytics, PageSpeed Insights, Pingdom, and SEOChecker. I worked closely with the team to adjust content and features based on real user feedback and communication goals.
This project was not just a website build; it was a full brand creation and ongoing digital partnership aimed at reaching and inspiring people who care about the future of Europe’s soils.
