Azores Accel is an accelerator program designed to support early-stage startups in the agri-food and bioeconomy sectors, with a strong focus on sustainable innovation and regional development in the Azores. Running from July to November 2021, the initiative aimed to foster scientific and technological transfer by connecting startups with mentoring, pilot opportunities, and incubation support through TERINOV and BGI. The website needed to serve as both an informational hub and an outreach tool—introducing the program, showcasing its benefits, and presenting the selected startups and their stories.
I developed the Azores Accel website from the ground up using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP. The goal was to build a clear, responsive, and informative platform that aligned with the program’s values of innovation, sustainability, and regional empowerment. I structured the content into accessible sections—such as "About", "Why", "Who", and startup profiles—ensuring the navigation experience was smooth and intuitive. I paid special attention to balancing visual clarity with engaging design, all while keeping the performance light and fast. I also implemented analytics tools to track engagement and optimize user flow based on performance data.
