Casino

Casino (1995) is an epic crime drama directed by Martin Scorsese, adapted from Nicholas Pileggi's nonfiction book *Casino: Love and Honor in Las Vegas* . Robert De Niro stars as Sam "Ace" Rothstein, a Jewish-American gambling handicapper sent by the Chicago Outfit to run the Tangiers Casino in Las Vegas . Joe Pesci plays Nicky Santoro, Ace's volatile childhood friend and mob enforcer, while Sharon Stone, in an Academy Award-nominated performance, portrays Ginger McKenna, Ace's manipulative wife . The film is based on the true stories of Frank "Lefty" Rosenthal, Anthony Spilotro, and Geri McGee, who ran the Stardust Casino for the mob in the 1970s .
