
127 Hours (2010) is a biographical survival drama directed by Danny Boyle. James Franco stars as real-life mountain climber Aron Ralston, who was trapped for five days when an 800-pound boulder pinned his right arm in Bluejohn Canyon, Utah, in April 2003 . Based on Ralston's memoir "Between a Rock and a Hard Place," the film depicts his desperate struggle to survive with minimal food and water before amputating his arm with a dull multi-tool to escape . The film received six Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture and Best Actor for Franco
